Mary Steer, Principal of MWS Design

MWS Design, founded in 1985, is the Sonoma County interior design firm clients in Marin County, Sonoma County and surrounding communities rely on for small and large projects. MWS Design has created gorgeous multimillion-dollar winery facilities and has done the interior designs for schools, restaurants and municipal projects for local cities in Marin County, Sonoma County and surrounding communities.

Mary Steer, principal of MWS Design, has over a quarter century of experience as an interior designer and the education to back up her experience. Mary has a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Art degree from Dominican University. She was certified by the California Council for Interior Design in 1992. “I can honestly say I’ve been in love with design all of my life,” she says. “I knew this was what I was born to do. I have the gift of visualizing the final product and knowing how we’ll accomplish it, and from my first design on, I’ve been in love with creating gorgeous spaces.”

Mary Steer also has valuable experience designing custom furniture and accessories. She’s designed and painted custom screens for a local restaurant to create a private dining space. For her residential clients she has made wall art out of intertwined bamboo and curly willlow. “If I see an opening in a project to do a custom piece, I’m excited to do it.”
